1. For people who may not know you tell us about yourself, and what you do.
"My name is Heather, aka h.e.r. or herfection online. I live in North Carolina and I run a hip-hop based blog, recently claimed to be the #17 most influential hip-hop blog out of 50 in VIBE magazine." 2. Explain what influenced the decision for you to create http://herfection.com.
"I wanted a site to be able and express how I felt about music. I wanted to have an outlet to showcase artist that didn't get the proper credit for their material that goes unseen or heard. Herfection, to me, is the softer side of the genre hip-hop, it's more-so conscious rather than all kinds of rap being put on it, so I wanted to be the writer, who's a girl, that doesn't just cover everything with a positive kick to it."
3. When you set out to create H.E.R. did you ever think it would be as widely recognized as it is today?
"No, years ago when myspace was "cool" I wanted a "cool" different name, so I called myself h.e.r. since I loved that song and the music. After having that as my name for so long I then began to blog and tied in the name with my name now."
4. You've recently been noted by Vibe.com for having the #17 best rap blog, what were your first reactions after you got word?
"I saw everyone on twitter either getting upset or excited lol. I didn't even bother to look @ the list until I started getting reactions sent to me. I assumed, for whatever reason, that I wouldn't hit that list period so I didn't rush to view it. Later I showed my mama... n nem lol. I was very excited honestly, to be in NC and a girl, it was really cool to show my friends because they hardly understand what a blog is so showing them a magazine was easy lol."
5. When you're not feeding the world through H.E.R., what might we find Heather doing?
"Laying on my hammock, at the beach, catching up with friends, collecting quotes, at church, visiting NYC, movies, surfing the internet looking @ pictures, I do that often, I collect photo's."
6. What are some of the short term as well as long term career goals you've set for yourself to accomplish.
"I haven't considered short term goals, unless you mean stop eating fast food, but long term career goals would be move to NYC before the year is over. Find a job/career that doesn't necessarily involve being rich, but happy. I want to experience work at a record label, publishing company(magazine), but eventually do what i finally have learned to admit i love, be surrounded by film."

7. Three things I couldn't go a day without are:
"Food! Blackberry, Music."
8. One thing most people don't know about me is:
"I used to want to be Chun-Li from Street Fighter."
9. If I could meet anyone in the world it would be:
"Russell."
10. What advice do you have for anyone who wants to create a blog buzz similar to the success of H.E.R?
"I tell everyone the same thing that emails me this question. Don't post it just because you're thinking you got it first, have an opinion about what you post, don't just post, you have to have a personality. Come up with a concept, you have to come with something new if you want to stand out. Use the internet to connect, that's what it's made for. Twitter, myspace, facebook, gmail, etc, and be clever & witty. Gain respect, and build relationships."
Sid Ashford: Heather was a really dope person to work with. I hope that we have future projects in the future and I wish her the best and success with all the she does. Check her online HERE.
